For our Featured Pinay Gamer Online of the Week, I'm going to introduce to you "Gemeleigh" (known as Gemeleigh too in real life).
Gemeleigh (who are also using Leigh, Gracii and Elle as her alternative names) is a 22 years old casual Pinay gamer who love to play online games; mostly published by E-Games. Some of these are O2Jam, RAN Online, Cabal Online, Audition, and Dragonica PH. She used to play also some other games like Crazy Kart and Legend of Martial Arts. Currently active playing Dragonica PH with her real life sweetheart (with in-game name; iLucifer), they are helping each other to be the best player in their current game. Naks! Getting interested? Kiko: When Did You Start Playing Online Games?
Gemeleigh: Way back 2006; I was 18 years old.
Kiko: Where Did You Start To Play Online Games?
Gemeleigh: The first online game I played is O2jam, published by e-Games. The first MMO I played is RAN Online. I was a Dex Archer in Kalayaan Server.
Kiko: How did You Learn To Play Your First Online Game?
Gemeleigh: I was just watching my younger brother play and sometimes he would ask me to pilot his character, like he would teach me what keys to press to use potions, cast skills and how to select mobs. After sometime, I also got interested with the game, so I made my own character.
Kiko: What Is Your Strongest Character You've Ever Played / Made?
Gemeleigh: I would say it's my level 56 Oracle in Dragonica PH. I have a PVP build. At first, I'm a total noob in PVP. But then my boyfriend trained me how to use my Oracle in PVP. We battle against other level-gap players in a 2v3 or 2v4 match and we win most of the time. Sometimes we lose, but we always make sure that it's a close fight.
Kiko: Berserker and Oracle are a very good combination! FTW!
Kiko: How Did You Become So Strong Like That?
Gemeleigh: I always stay in pvp rooms looking for a good match. Sometimes I would go online just to play pvp matches. Before, I always join Ranked PVP because that is actually where you get the chance to play with pro PVPers. I also watch and join PVP tournaments because I can get tips in teamplay when watching how other team battle.
Kiko: Have You Ever Joined In A Gaming Competition?
Gemeleigh: We joined the e-Games iCafe Tournament at SM Mall of Asia last November 2010. Our guild had 2 teams for the competition. I belong to the 2nd team and we won 1st place. Our main team was the Champions.
Kiko: What Have You Learn From Playing Online Games?
Gemeleigh: I have learned that everyone has their own unique traits. We always differ on how we handle things that's why arguing is inevitable. You just have been patient and understanding, so you would be able to get along with other people, despite your differences.
Kiko: Most Unforgettable Moment in Playing Online Games?
Gemeleigh: I became the featured player in Dragonica PH. I am just a regular gamer and I don't have much to boast in-game, that's why I didn't think I would be featured. I was also glad because when I was featured, I didn't see any negative comment towards me, unlike the previous featured players. On a funny note, someone actually tried to imitate me, someone known in Facebook as GM Gemeleigh. I already warned the other players about this to prevent future scams.
Kiko: Anything Else You Want To Say to Other Gamers?
Gemeleigh: This is my favorite gaming quote: "Play HARD. Study HARDER. Pray HARDEST."
